Serenity Serenity is the conclusion to the TV series 'Firefly'. The movie pits Malcolm Reynolds and his crew against the ruthless and powerful Alliance that rules the 'inner planets' with an iron fist.

Hoban “Wash” Washburne is the ship’s pilot. He doesn’t seem to take anything too seriously, and finds all this swashbuckling renegade outlaw stuff a little disconcerting. But he is good at what he does, which is to keep Serenity flying, out of trouble, and one step ahead of the Alliance. And he has his wife Zoe to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Serenity: “Wash” Quotes

Something clanks past the main window:

Mal: What was that?

Wash: Did you see that?

Mal: Was that the primary buffer panel?

Wash: Did seem to resem-

Mal: [interrupting] Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship for no apparent reason?!

Serenity is approaching the planet rather too fast:

Wash: Yeah well, if she doesn’t give us some extra flow from the engine room to offset the burn through, this landing is gonna get pretty interesting.

Mal: Define interesting.

Wash: “Oh god oh god we’re all gonna die?”

Mal: [speaking through the ship's tannoy] This is the captain. We have a…little problem with our engine sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then…explode.

A crash-landing is imminent:

Mal: Yeah well, just get us on the ground.

Wash: That part will happen pretty definitely.

Wash: Start with the part where Jayne gets knocked out by a ninety-pound girl, ’cause I don’t think that’s ever gettin’ old.
